For more than a quarter of a century, Karlton Jackson has been an influential fixture in the multi-family industry.

As CEO of JMG Realty, Mr. Jackson’s primary focus is to ensure that the company upholds the principles, integrity, honesty and character that have been the company’s catalyst for rapid success. These time-earned characteristics have allowed JMG Realty to establish a loyal and expanding client base throughout the years. Mr. Jackson’s involvement begins with locating a viable asset for potential acquisition and continues throughout the acquisition process. He is actively involved with the asset throughout the hold period, which includes rehabilitation, management reorganization and long-term stabilization, culminating in the successful sale of the asset.

Mr. Jackson formed Jackson Management Group, which later became JMG Realty. His previous industry experience includes serving as Divisional President for Johnstown American Companies, where he was responsible for the operations of the Southeastern Division. Before that, Mr. Jackson was associated with Monumental Properties and Cadillac-Fairview, Inc. He has served on numerous state and city apartment associations’ board of directors, NAA and the National Multi-Housing Council.

Tim Brock has been in the real estate industry since 1973 and was named President of JMG Realty, Inc. in 2008.

Before joining JMG, Tim held several executive positions with BlackRock Realty, a subsidiary of BlackRock, Inc., and predecessor companies for more than 18 years. Some of his executive positions included Regional Director, Director, and President of BlackRock Realty’s management affiliate, Metric Property Management. In these capacities, Tim was responsible for the operational leadership of Metric and a national portfolio of 21,000 units, with more than 500 employees in 17 states. The portfolio included multiple investment strategies, including core, core/enhanced, core/value added and opportunistic for public, corporate and Taft-Hartley pension plans, endowments, trusts and private investors.

Tim served as a partner in Belmont Equities before joining BlackRock Realty. He was involved in the development, construction and management of approximately 5,000 units in the Southeast. He also has held various management positions with the Krupp Company and Cadillac-Fairview.

Tim attended Georgia State University, majoring in Finance. He holds a Georgia real estate license and is a member of various industry associations, including the National Apartment Association (NAA), National Multi-Housing Council (NMHC) and multiple state apartment associations. Tim has served in various capacities for several of these organizations, including Board of Directors, Executive Committee, Education Committee Chairman, and Apartment Economic Council Chairman.

LuAnne is a Partner in JMG Realty and serves as Executive Vice President of Business Development/Client Relations.

LuAnne is lovingly known as the “Corporate Cheerleader”. In addition, she serves as Executive Vice President for Property Management Services in the Northeast and Southeast regions.

LuAnne first started in the industry in 1984 as a part time leasing agent while attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham. LuAnne was employed with Johnstown American Companies/Lane Company in 1985 and was based in Birmingham, Alabama. She joined Jackson Management Group in January 1989 and transferred to the South Florida Region in September 1989. She remained in South Florida until she relocated to the Atlanta corporate office in August 2004.

LuAnne has extensive expertise in economic and market analysis, investor and client relations, property acquisition/disposition supervision, transaction and financial oversight, and business development.

LuAnne has earned the CPM® designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management and has remained active over the last twenty-five years in market-specific and national multi-family associations, where she has served in various officer positions and as board members. LuAnne has received many honors during her property management tenure, including multiple “Special Service to the Rental Housing Industry” awards and the prestigious “Supervisor of the Year” award from SEFAA. LuAnne is an approved instructor for CAM designation classes and is a frequent speaker at state and national industry-related events. LuAnne and her family currently live in Atlanta, GA.

Lori Johnson serves as Executive Vice President of Acquisitions and has been involved in commercial real estate since 1982.

Lori Johnson serves as Executive Vice President/Partner and has been involved in commercial real estate since 1982. She was employed with Johnstown American Companies/Lane Company before joining JMG Realty at its inception in 1989.

As head of Acquisitions for JMG, Lori is responsible for identifying potential investment opportunities throughout the United States. She has led the acquisition of approximately $1.5 billion in multi-family assets and has been instrumental in the placement of investor equity as well as the development of joint venture partnerships for the company.

Lori began her property management experience as an on-site manager. She later held positions as property manager, condominium property manager, and marketing/training director. This extensive property management background has given her the knowledge and experience to evaluate deals efficiently and effectively – from value-add to new construction lease-up to condominium conversion opportunities. Her precise and meticulous analyses have enabled JMG Realty to secure equity and financing sources for joint ventures and third-party management acquisitions.

Lori is an honor graduate of Clemson University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business.

Charles Coburn is responsible for the underwriting, financing and legal/contractual issues of real estate investments and acquisitions for JMG.

Charles excels in the structuring of joint ventures and participating loan financing, using conventional methods of financing. He works with major lenders and institutional investors, including Bank of America, Wachovia, PNC Bank, LaSalle Bank, the RREEF Funds and SunTrust Bank. His work with international lenders as well as FHLMC and FNMA lenders has included Citibank, Fuji Bank, Sumitumo Trust and Dai-ichi Kangyo Bank.

Charles has experience in new development but also excels in financing for the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing properties. This includes the entire financing process – from the initial contact and presentation, lender/equity source liaisons and negotiations, actual loan and deal-structuring, to closing. The combination of direct real estate experience in acquisition and development with extensive expertise in providing financing for both new and existing properties creates a complete background for structuring commercial real estate transactions.

Before joining Jackson Management Group at its inception in 1989, Charles worked with Johnstown American Companies.

Cindy Kelley has worked in the multi-family industry for more than 27 years

Her position at JMG entails supervision of all accounting for the properties as well as supervision of all rehab accounting and some partnership accounting. In addition, she oversees the Human Resources Department and Information Systems Department. Cindy is a two-time recipient of JMG Realty’s President’s Award.

Cindy began her career in real estate accounting at Johnstown American Companies/Lane Company, beginning as a property-level bookkeeper and ascending to Assistant Controller. She joined Jackson Management Group at its inception in 1989 as Vice President of Accounting and Personnel. Ms. Kelley supervised all accounting for the properties, all rehab accounting and all partnership accounting. In addition, she was directly responsible for all corporate accounting.

Bonnie Smetzer is Executive Vice President and a Partner for JMG Realty, Inc. and directly oversees operations of a portfolio of 10,000 apartment units located primarily in Florida.

Her apartment management experience encompasses market feasibility studies, acquisition, renovation, new construction rent up, stabilization and receivership of properties ranging from garden style, mixed use, mixed income, and mid to high rise properties. Ms. Smetzer is an active Florida Real Estate Broker.

Ms. Smetzer joined Karlton Jackson when he formed Jackson Management Group, which later merged with the Hudson Group in Houston, to form JMG Realty, Inc. She started the Florida Division for the company and was instrumental in its development into one of the company’s largest areas of operations.

Prior to forming Jackson Management, Ms. Smetzer held the position of Regional Vice President for the Lane Company Southeast Division, when it was owned by Johnstown American Companies. She also served concurrently as their Director of Training for a portfolio of over 14,000 units. She was the recipient of the Johnstown American Circle of Excellence Award on three separate occasions. This was a national award given to the regional manager whose portfolio out performed a company portfolio of 134,000 units. In 1987 she started the Florida Division and relocated to the Orlando area. In 1992 she was the recipient of JMG’s President’s Award, a company-wide award given for outstanding job performance and dedication.

Ms. Smetzer is a native of Atlanta and attended the University of West Georgia on an honor scholarship and was a member of the collegiate debate team. Ms. Smetzer continued her education in Journalism at the University of Georgia with an emphasis on Public Relations, Sales & Marketing. She received the Certified Property Manager designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management in June of 1985. She was also later awarded the HCCP designation from the National Association of Home Builders.

Under her supervision, her properties have won two Pillars of the Industry Awards and one Renovation of the Year Award. In 2005, her marketing plan for City View in Orlando was a Pillars of the Industry Finalist for Best Overall Marketing Plan of the Year. In 1995 her property, The Ashford of Spring Valley in Altamonte Springs, won the Outstanding Renovation Victor Award from the National Apartment Association.

Ms. Smetzer serves on the Executive Committee for the Florida Apartment Association and is the Legislative Chairman for the Space Coast Apartment Association and serves on the Board of Directors. She is a delegate to the National Apartment Association for 2015.

As JMG Realty's corporate financial officer, Thomas H. Staten oversees corporate accounting and partnership accounting of the company's controlled properties.

He also is involved in risk management and all aspects of acquisitions, sales, financing and entity creation.

Thom began his career in property management in 1983. Before joining The Hudson Group in 1988, which later merged with Jackson Management Group to form JMG Realty, Inc., he was Vice President/Controller for a company managing commercial and multi-family property in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi. The opportunities provided by working with a wide range of clients – including individuals, pension funds, financial institutions and insurance companies – has contributed to his broad range of experience.

Thom is a 1994 cum laude graduate of South Texas College of Law, earning a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree while working full time. He graduated from Northern Arizona University in 1977 with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting and is a licensed CPA in Texas.

Jean Woodworth is an Executive Vice President and Partner with JMG Realty and has 30 years’ experience in managing and supervising multifamily assets.

Jean began her career with the Lane Company in 1984 and joined JMG Realty, Inc. at its inception in 1989.

Jean has had extensive involvement in every phase of the marketing, lease-up and management of a variety of new construction and distressed properties. She has directly supervised several major award winning renovations from the pre-acquisition stage through disposition, and supervised the successful repositioning of these assets in highly competitive markets. Jean currently manages a portfolio of conventional sites and student housing communities located throughout the mid-west, southeastern and southwestern United States.

Jean graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism and a Minor in Public Relations. She is also a recipient of the CPM designation from the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM). Jean is heavily involved in internet marketing and has been a guest speaker at regional and national marketing and social media conferences.
